After wasting two days running aound Tokyo, I thought I would post some information to help the next guy.

I looked all around for an HP adaptor for my PC, BIC Camera, local computer shop, Akihabara etc. After being told I could only order the adapter online, then that Japan doesn't carry this model and that Canada doesn't ship overseas. Blah Blag Blah

I took my PC with me and went back again hoping to get an IBM adapter that might work as I needed my PC asap. Well Finally after three more hours of looking I found a shop close to Akihabara station that advertises English service(I went to this place the first time too) and a helpful, knowledgable young man showed me an adapter that you can use with any pc for 1/3 the price of an adapters at BIC Camera.

So if you are stuck go to this place!

You turn right out of the station and walk on the right side of the street to the corner it is the last shop with a big sign saying English Computers. It is only a minute or 2 from the station.

Thanx Ava77, I might try it for an adaptor that has been giving me trouble, though I am afraid it is a discontinued model (Gateway) in Japan.
