|
|
We are in the process of filling out a Working Holiday Visa for my brother. He is going over to Japan to teach, and of course sight-see, but primarily to make money. I am wondering if it is a bad idea to claim he has a job waiting for him when he arrives or not. The job is 4 days a week and is considered a full-time teaching position.
The Working Holiday Visa states that employment is allowed, but can not be the primary reason for travel. If this job is classified as full-time, then that might raise suspision..
I guess I am wondering if anyone has experieance or advice regarding Working Holiday Visas. Should he just not say he has a job set-up before leaving?
We don't have a lot of time to go through a lengthy Visa process, and if he doesn't get this we are screwed, so any advice is greatly appreciated. |

Since the purpose of the Working Holiday Visa is to experience the culture and travel the country, I would have your brother leave out the info about his job...they might not like that he has secured a job (part-time or full-time) without being given a visa yet. Just my opinion though...
Good Luck! |

Thats what I was thinking. I mean technically speaking he hasn't signed his contract, so at the time of application he is telling the truth. |

When I first came to Japan on a WHV I already had a job- full time (actually 6 days a week) in Nagano on a ski resort, and I was instructed by the company I was going to work for to write about my job in my application, but say it was only for 2 months.
It is a working holiday visa, so they expect you are going to work at some time to support yourself- pretty expensive to travel in Japan very long without working.
If it were me I would just put down the job information- they don't come after you later to check what you're doing. If it's a real worry, then leave that info out. |

Interesting. I was just concerened they would follow-up and see that he was actually working full-time and pull the visa. I wonder if you can go in with a WHV then switch to a regular or sponserd Visa after? That might be cheating the sytem though. |

He doesn't need to put anything about the job to get the VISA, nor does he have to worry about them revoking the VISA if he's working full-time. |

VISA is a type of credit card
visa is what you get from immigration. |
