Today I found myself watching on of those crime scene investigation programs on the discovery channel and I found to my surprise that a good 50% was being blurred out.

I can understand the reasoning behind burring out people's faces and even pubic hair but this one stumps me. 50% of the images blurred out probably actual crime scene photos and I can even understand that.

What I dont get though is when a crime scene specialist was carrying out a demonstration for a class by burning pig cadavers they even blurred out the image of the pigs being burned. They even blurred out images of alligators feeding. I highly doubt the alligators where actually eating human flesh as it seemed like stock footage.

I've sometimes been confused by certain things here only to learn a somewhat logical reason for it later but this is stumping me. Not allowing pigs to be burned or showing alligators feeding? Is it simply because these images are related to covering up a crime?
