Frankly, I'm disgusted that you all feel so free to talk about women in such a disrespectful manner. If you're teachers I fear for the values you are passing on to your students. Women are people and people are more than a sum of their parts. Hopefully, it's immaturity and you'll live long enough to figure out the difference.

No one is being disrespectful to anyone. They're genuinely discussing social interactions they've noticed. How is that disrespectful?

If parts of a woman include body, mind, and soul - how is a woman more than the sum?

We're only human. If you prefer a woman not to have a certain characteristic, aren't you free to not date that woman? You act like if any woman proposed marriage you would be obliged to accept, because god forbid you have an opinion about her.

It works both ways. Women want the Brad-Pitt-Guy. Women want a huge wallet. In Japan, there is a significant population of women who choose the wallet over the man, so who's being disrespectful again? At least we are discussing the women themselves, not the contents of their purses.

Are teachers banned from dating? No one said that they taught their ESL students about what they think the ideal woman is, or what they are looking for in life.

Yeah J, chill the hell out. Many of the women I've known in the past never talked about a man's body or looks, only about his deeper inner personality. They were much happier with a man who was really ugly on the outside, but beautiful on the inside, like Michael Jackson. (cough, cough...) as if! Next time I'm in class with some four year olds, I'll make sure to let them know that they should only bully the kids with rotten souls, the corrupt blighters.

Nismo, I'm with you on that one. The trampy girls with the stupid tanned faces make me want to give out some serious slappage. I think they're dumb and they look stupid, and I've not seen or spoken to one yet who challenges my opinion, so I guess I'm up on that pedestal above them too. On the otherhand, I can't stand all the dumb dikhead chavs back home with their greasy slicked back hair and their conversations about car parts, whose idea of fun is to go out on a Saturday and pick a fight, before chucking some wheelie bins through windows of cornershops. Its just people. Some you love, some you hate.

Glad we are getting back to the serious topic now. I have noticed that Watermelons are bigger in Australia than Japan, but the Japanese ones seem to taste better..... Laughing

I am not a fan of a woman armed with torpedos.

Talk about how low we have gone!

Let's rename this thread "BigDaikon Revisited" or "Testosterone 451". Frankly, I can't believe the mods have let it develop (not progress) this far.

The last few one liners were overboard. This is the December 2004 Niigata shinkansen incident all over again.

I want to add to the chorus that (at least 10 years ago when I was in Japan) most foreigners tend(ed) to have attractive girlfriends. Not necessarily fashion models, but attractive.

FWIW, this I found this to be very true in Korea as well (though where and when I was few guys had a Korean girlfriend), but not quite as much so in Taiwan and oh my god not at all in China.
