Hello everyone,
Are there any schools in Japan, especially in the major cities, that specialize in hiring qualified newbies with no experience? I am looking to get hired while still located in the U.S., any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks

Please look around, read some of the posts and the stickies. There's plenty of info answering that question here.

Twonny, do you qualify for a work visa? That is...

do you have a bachelor's degree? If not, you're out of luck.

If you DO, here are the few places that hire from abroad and sponsor work visas.

NOVA
www.teachinjapan.com

ECC
www.japanbound.com

GEOS
www.geoscareer.com

AEON
www.aeonet.com

Altia Central
www.altia-jp.com

James English School
www.jesjapan.com

Peppy Kids Club

JET Programme
http://www.jetprogramme.org/

Earlham College (ALT program like JET)
http://www.earlham.edu/~aet/

Westgate Corporation (3 month jobs only, but full visa sponsorship)
http://www.westgate.co.jp

Berlitz
http://www.berlitz-japan.com/jobs.htm

Language House (no web site; located in Shikoku)

The only one of these that pays airfare up front is JET. Westgate reimburses about 100,000 yen over 2 paychecks for airfare. SOME of the others MIGHT give you a bonus after 12 months, intended to make up for some airfare. Otherwise, you are on your own.

Thanks for all the valuable information. I see that some of these schools are offering outstanding contracts, at least compared to most Mexican institutions. Thanks for the help!
