Bosses dump on you. Male and female.
attributes ascribed to one as to the other are mutually interchangeable and generally not worthy of merit. To posit one as better than the other when they dump on you in the same fashion defies belief. Decrying maleness and adopting the worst traits of it to demonstrate your rights to be a woman then claiming equality in self defence takes the P***. Continuing to adhere to these practices and promote them as proof of maleness in the face of proof to the contrary is sheer stupidity.
Light a few pipes... big ones.

Their is another response and that is because the men who are bosses are single and tend to be in other countries taking advantage of the local 'scenery' while women have their children in schools where they learn their mother tongue.

Well biff, you and I define "awful bosses" differently it would seem. For instance, being unable to name the current squads for sports teams hardly makes for a poor boss, IMO. I really fail to see the correlation between sports and EFL. I also don't think political correctness is a bad thing. Granted, some people go too far with it, but I doubt that this would make me miserable in my job. I also don't know any females who "take time off every month". Who are these women? To be honest, biff, I don't believe you on that point. Nor do I believe that all of your female bosses have gone "power crazy". That's quite the general statement, and it sounds exaggerated to me.

In truth, what I get from your posting is that you are a whiny man who can't handle being told what to do by a woman. You know, I've had male bosses who were horrible - my boss in Taiwan was a freakin' nightmare Rolling Eyes - but I don't think all males are awful bosses. It's an unfair stereotype and I think you are just trying to start a gender war here. I've seen your flame bait on other threads, biff. I think you enjoy the turmoil you create. Well, here you go....congratulations. Wink

For those who PM'd me about my earlier posting here, thanks for your concern but I am really not upset. Very Happy

I'm so transparent, Biff. You got me. Uptight and ugly. Very Happy Actually, it's because I'm so horribly, sinfully ugly that I find myself sitting at my computer, conversing with internet weirdos like yourself. *sigh* Wink

I see you've met Buffy. Wink

If Capegirl was uptight, I doubt she would have survived either Korea or Taiwan, from what we've heard.

PS Buffy, how many female bosses do/did you have working in the Middle East?

Quote:
I think Biffs question has not really being addressed here, the question of why are there more (a lot more) female bosses ?
The simple answer mate is coz there are a lot more girlies in this game than us man types and thats why they end up at the top of the tree

I know I've mentiond this about 10 times in the last two days, but I just don't see a lot more female foreign EFL teachers than males in Asia. Or female school owners. True, a lot of the (government employed) teachers are female, but they're unlikely to be our bosses, no?

To be fair, some chains (like NOVA) make it a point to hire women for middle management positions, but I've never had anyone mention an over abundance of female EFL bosses to me over here....

Edit: Yes I can read the question. But I'll leave things as is. Very Happy

Wolf the original subject was related to Europe not Asia.As for SueH and Cleo...the latter of whom has called me a 'woman hating redneck' and now a 'weirdo'.......,chill out and learn to spot a very large tongue in cheek.Clearly the women of Canada and Hampshire have yet to take their heads out of their *****.The original point I was making was a valid one.In Poland for example, where the number of male and female teachers is roughly the same, most of the bosses are women and the're generally absolutely dastardly.Better teachers (in general),certainly not .People who like to 'get one over' on their male colleagues, certainly yes.Personally I think it's good ole sexism.A boss with long legs and a short skirt sells more courses...especially to rich ,one to one business men than a fella, period.

Firstly, it's Capergirl, not Cleo. Secondly, I called everyone here "internet weirdos", in case you missed my all-encompassing stereotype. Very Happy (And it was a joke, Mr. Tongue-in-Cheek)

Fair enough.

I think you state you thesis better here than in your OP. I, however, am in no position to comment.

I don't doubt that this is a factor of the EFL industry as it now stands. But if this were so, would it not be sufficient to simply have attractive women that work at the school to do "sales lessons," or work as "sales representatives?" That's what happens "over here." Why need they be the managers?
