Are these questions legit for a job application?:
Father�s name
Mother�s name
Mother�s maiden name
Passport number
Date of issue
Date of expiry
Agency of isuue
Is it safe to give out this kind of information?

No. There is no reason to know your parents' names.
However, knowing your passport information is ok, but NOT just for a job application. It is necessary for processing your work visa, though. No harm in telling your potential employer the year it was issued and will expire, in my opinion.

It depends on the country. In Europe attaching a photo to a job application is perfectly legal and expected, whereas that is illegal in the US. |

I've had to fill out some fairly harsh appl questions (overseas) in my time, and nowhere is mother's maiden name a legit question. As it can be used to identify you on the phone at your bank or cred card issuer, I would think hard as to whether to tell the truth on this one, or indeed, whether to answer at all. With the other ones, father and mother are legit to provide to country authorities, in my experience, but not to employers. The employers have a reasonable basis to ask for your passport info - they may well be required by the authorities to prove they're not hiring illegal immigrants or other such. |
