|
|
Hello, a friend of mine recently applied to the Peppy Kids Club and he was told by a representative there that he could get a WORK Visa (not a Holiday Visa) without a degree because he has TWO college diplomas which equate to 5 years of study.
I am in a similar situation and was wondering if anybody could shed some light on the above. Is this the case? I could not find any information regarding this on VISA sites. If this is so teaching in Japan becomes a more lucrative venture as I would not be subject to higher taxes and would be able to get a higher pay on a Work Visa with Peppy Kids.
Thanks. |

I'm sure some people have managed to slip this by immigration somehow, but it is not the norm, so don't expect it to happen, but be very pleased if it does. MOFA states quite clearly that a bachelor's degree is required (and they accept a 3-year or 4-year one, depending on your country). |

I could not find anything on the MOFA website stating they require a degree. Could you provide me with a link, please. Thanks. |

Gladly.
Here is the main MOFA page.
http://www.mofa.go.jp/j_info/visit/visa/index.html
Appendix I and Section V are the two places that refer to university degrees. They don't state specifically a bachelor's degree, but they do refer to graduating from a college. Historically, this has been taken by immigration to mean a bachelor's degree (with the rare exceptions I mentioned earlier). |

Thanks.
From what it states here "The applicant must have graduated from or completed a college or acquired equivalent education" I wonder if the rep I am talking to is saying I may have "equivalent education". |

Perhaps you should ask this question.
Why would 'Peppy Kids Club' want to hire me, and others who wouldn't be considered by most schools?
Perhaps it is because they are looking for the very best of the best who managed to slip under the radar of all of the other schools. Or, they are looking for people who are in no position to complain.
Hmm? |
