Is a Notebook neccessary?

So getting a Mac is the best choice? We have a IMac but it is a 20in screen. The computer is in the monitor but it is still pretty large. Would you recommend that we buy a IBook, just get a dell, or bring the Imac (we actually already have a dell laptop). OR bring the dell and the Imac...

thanks for all the replies. I was lucky enough to be given a vaio z1. just wondering about this power issue... all I will need is an adapter right? after all notebooks are made for travelling so I assume it has some type of voltage stabiliser or something (Im dont know much about electrical things)?
