I'm just wondering because there doesn't seem to be much of a scene. Also, if you reveal your secret location newbies will know where to start their journey.

Haven't run into too many English teachers, but most the ex-pats in KL hang out in Bangsar, loads of bars and little restaraunts there, and Seri Damansara around Devi's Corner.

The Bangsar Shopping Center has the Actors' Studio on the top floor that does interesting shows; I always see a bunch of matsali there.

Hows Sunway Lagoon? Any good slides? Did you get to see the Pussycat Dolls? Very Happy

Sadly, I haven't been inside the lagoon. I think they have indoor surfing there. I am going to try to check it out on the weekend. There is so much stuff to do near my house. I love to golf and there is a driving range right next door. Right now I'm just adjusting and trying to do well at work. My mission is to start enjoying all this place has to offer. That's why I came here in the first place.

I would say that teachers don't really hang about together here. There isn't really a 'scene'.
It is different to other Asian countries here I suppose. There is an expat scene, and that woukld be Bangsar/Ampang area, but it tends to be a very rich, long term expat community.
In contrast to other Asian countries, it is prety easy to just melt into the local population here and live much as they do. I have been here a couple of years (almost) and I don't have any western friends. All mine are local people. I think that this is much easier here than it is in, say, Thailand.
I guess its much like Singapore in that way, here in KL.
