I was wondering if anyone has any input regarding teaching jobs in January or later. I've heard that the beginning of the year is good time to find work in South America and Taiwan, but I don't know about anywhere else. There seems to be plenty of work in September, but due to financial considerations I have to postpone my job hunt for a few months.
Thanks. |

I worked for IH last year and they have vacancies all year round. The only thing about looking for work in January is that you may have to compromise on where you want to go, but as long as you're flexible you'll get something,. |

Hiya,
I wouldn't worry too much about it. I've been asking around on the web about next March/April as I've also put it back to get some comfort savings before I go - but I've already been offered a job for whenever I am available and I've not even done the qualification yet!

The university and school terms begin in February/March in Peru and language institutes also get busy at about this time. I'd start sending CV's on spec from now if you are interested in teaching in an international school, or from October ish if you want a uni/language institute post. |

School calendars can be quite different in different countries. Ask on the boards for specific countries.
But, language schools tend to hire all the time. Though there will be some peak and low seasons, it generally isn't difficult to land a job any time of year. |

Thanks, everyone. I really appreciate your advice.
Amykitten, I'm curious- from where have you gotten the early job offer?
Tedkarma, I will post in the specific country forums, thanks! |
