|
|
Hi all
Im currently living in Japan but will be leaving in November for a 6 month trip around SE Asia. Malaria pills are extremely expensive in Japan (surprise surprise) so I was wanting to get them in Bangkok.
Can anyone reccomend a reputable doctor that wont rip me off with sugar pills or something!!??
Cheers |

Waste of money IMO. Never taken them and don't really know many people that do (although this applies more to Thailand as a whole...but still).
In fact they can actually make it FAR WORSE than not having any!!!
I'd save your money personally!!! |

F**ken Daijobu!!!!!
Cheers Bro
But at that price Im really wondering at the legitimacy of the stuff.
For one that is a hell of a lot cheaper, and secondly it requires no precription......
I know its Bangkok, but still? |

I heard that the SE Asian variety was resistant to pretty much everything. I wouldn't bother taking anything - I never did and it hasn't done me any harm...........
Just that strange re-occuring fever I've had since coming back......... |

Bravo Ken!!
I couldn't agree more:
NO SHOTS
NO TABLETS
NO INSURANCE
the brave new world!
I never had any problems and saved a bunch of time/money. |

Well I'd maybe not go as far as to say that....but yes if like me you're close personal friends with the Big Man....then yeah go for it.
Kent,
I actually thought malaria tablets could cause more problems if you got malaria?
But that was coming from a Thai doctor |

You know, you could just drink Gin and Tonic, tonic water has Quinine in it haha. Thats why I drink so much Gin and Tonic with fresh lime, while in Asia! Medicinal purposes only of course!!! |
