Hello. Just some thoughts I've been pondering. I'm teaching in China right now and I don't have a degree. I'm thinking about switching to a student visa after a while and studying the Chinese language at a local University here in China so I can get a B.A. that way. One thing I'd like to know, is it possible that with a Bachelors degree from a Chinese university, would I be qualified for a work visa in Korea, Japan, and Taiwan teaching English? Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks.
Jared
p.s. How much would it cost for an entire 4 years? I hear it's not as expensive at a university in China like it would be at a university in North America. |

google the web sites of the schools you're interested in. one year of tuition at chengdu's southwest university of finance and economics is around rmb13,500. but that's purely for language study, not part of a degree program.
so yeah, significantly cheaper to do a degree here, but a) probably wouldn't be held in as high esteem as a foreign degree would; and b) sounds, to me, at least, an agonizing experience. if you really must have a degree, i vote for a public school in wherever you're from. |

Why do you think any Chinese person who can afford it goes to school in a different country? |
