Hi,

I was just offered a position with CE LIBRA in Poland. I've read a few bad comments on that school but I'm wondering if it's considered a good school to work for, or not. Among the comments I've read was : teachers don't get paid.

If you know anything about that school, or can offer some advice. I'd be glad to read it.
Thanks
Marie

I worked for Libra for a year and, yes, the teachers were not paid on time or had to pretty much beg for money. Please be careful and good luck with finding a good job.

Not being paid on time is often a very bad sign. That said some schools will pay a couple of days late from time to time because teachers are late getting their registers in and so the school can not bill the clients on time and so the school will not get paid on time!

I personally have never heard anything good or bad about Libra.

The majority of schools in Poland are generally fine, but if there is an issue with money then speak to the Director of the school before you leave. Good luck!

Well, I dont like to rag on a company for no reason. I've worked for several schools in this part of the world, but this one is just as crooked as they come.
I personally know many teachers who worked there until the ugly end and there were many problems with money, money, and well... you get the picture.
It was difficult to get in touch with the bosses- there were only two of them, a husband and a wife. They were the owners, directors of studies, human resources department, in all they were the school. They were also not communicative at all. If there were problems of any kind, the owners ignored their mobile phones, email, and any other form of communication that may have reached them with your complaints.
This is what the biggest problem at this company. There were financial problems, but when you wanted to find out when and how you would be paid you were met with silence....
However, if you do decide to work for them... then you should find another school to work for, as well, that can provide you with medical insurance because Libra doesnt. Poland has 'universal health-care', but you can only take part if your employer, or you, pay monthly for it. So, make sure that you are covered or you will spend lots of money at the doctors.

Or just take out a private healthcare policy from a reputable insurer like Hestia for 40zl a month (or the 120zl/pm PLUS package), which is a lot cheaper than the cut ZUS take for a far more substandard care service

Hi,
I sent you a pm about CE libra but you never replied so I thought I'd write this way. (Sorry if my unsoliced pm freaked you out I)
Now after thinking about CE libra a bit more I think I might have been too hasty in my assessment of them, but overall I'm glad I didnt take their offer. Too many people complained about not being paid by them and the other threads that touched on that are now gone! I hope whatever choice you made it was the right one for you. Best of luck!
