I'm new to all this forum stuff and just got back to Istanbul after a while away. Have been looking around for schools to work in and have heard a fair amount about some of them... does anyone know anything about British Side though? I can't seem to find any info on them anywhere. I noticed their sign up on what I think was the old British Council building in Beşiktaş...
Thanks

You will be charging British Council rates but without the British Council name.

The BC resources went to Bilgi Univ and apparently only Bilgi people can check them out.

I am shocked that your place wasn't interested in them.

I have been in for an interview at British Side and they seem pretty kosher- trying to keep the professionalism in teaching, and the pay does sound good... certainly the best i've heard of so far. Personally i don't see the problem in charging high course fees (as thrifty pointed out) if they're prepared to pay their teachers well. Take a walk round any of the 'posh' shopping malls- the money is there. Just hope i can get some of it in my pocket Very Happy . Oh, and apparently they are interviewing old british council teachers too so i don't know where the nepotism point comes into it.
