DMB Are you worried that you might run into a few old colleagues at the AA meeting? I bet there are a good few TEFLers besides Scot47.

Scot's Ist AA meeting is his passing through meeting. There are meetings in Saudi-they have a Middle East website plus websites for each country. Dahran has thrice(?) weekly meetings.

Shame on you Sheikh-you know that old TEFL alkies end up in the Gulf.

They get fake qualifications and work in a country that borders the UAE. Instead of beach bars they drink homebrew and holiday in cheap booze and women places like Thighland. Some even get a wife from there.

Hold that Miller ... Liquor really is a killer ...

Quote:

Nicaragua tainted brew kills 22

Nicaraguan police have been raiding bars and stores in search of adulterated alcohol that is so far believed to have killed 22 people.

A similar outbreak of methanol poisoning in El Salvador six years ago left at least 120 people dead.

Street Trash (1987)

Directed by
J. Michael Muro

When a liquor store owner finds a case of "Viper" in his cellar, he decides to sell it to the local hobos at one dollar a bottle, unaware of its true properties. The drinks causes its consumers to melt, very messily. Two homeless lads find themselves up against the effects of the toxic brew, as well as going head to head with "Bronson" a Vietnam vet with sociopathic tendencies, and the owner of the junkyard they live in.....

"Tavsan, how many beers did you have last night? "

none actually! But after going offline, I found a mini bottle of rakı lurking in the fridge...and drank it while watching old 'Scooby DooOo' cartoons I had on tape.
