From my understanding you need a degree or 3 years teaching experience in order to qualify for a working visa. I don't have the degree, but I do have over 3 years teaching experience. If anyone has got their visa on experience, how does immigration ask you to proove your experience? I am assuming reference letters, contracts, pay slips will do the trick. Does anyone know officially? Also will they take into account my one year that I taught in Japan on a working holiday visa? |

Very few (and I do mean very) people will be able to answer your question. If it's possible, contact immigration and ask. It makes sense to be able to prove with pay records, and if you can get a letter to certify, that would help, too. The more the better.
I have not been in your situation, but it would make sense that any full-time work experience (in Inner Mongolia, or in Japan on a WHV) would count.
Please keep this forum posted on the results, as this seems to be a growing concern lately. |

I provided my employer with my T-4 slips (tax reciepts), a reference letter from my employer and 2 reference letter from coworkers. For immigration this seems to have been enough as I was issued my visa.
That said, immigration does not seem be specific on how you are to prove your working experience.
I worked at a reputable language college for almost 5 consecutive years in Vancouver. The school was liscensed by the "governing" body of the ESL industy in Vancouver. Whether or not this had any say as to my 3 years of experience being accepted or rejected I'm sorry I have no idea.
As for schools willing to hire those with only 3 years experience, again sorry. I only applied for a few jobs before landing this job. The only advice I can give is that if you want it bad enough keep sending out the resumes. |
