My name is gaston and I live in Canada.
Before I go ahead with my questions I would like to express my gratitude to to all the members who have made this great board possible!
I got to admit that I've never posted (well, not until now anyway) but I have read most of the posts.
I'm french-canadian and I'm fluent in french but I have used english even longer and I am more fluent at it. I think that I have a very good command of the english language, enough so to teach it as a second language.
I'm 45 years old and I am getting kind of "sick" of my culture and I plan into moving to a place where I can experience other cultures. In the past I have worked mostly with and in nature. I've worked for many years for the BC Forest Service because I love forests and I still do.
I love everything that's got to do with sciences; so, here's my question: In
Southeast Asia, besides teaching english as a second language with a Celta or whatever could I teach maths with a Bacc. Degree in Mathematics, or would I need a teaching degree?
My plans for the future would be to retire somewhere in the Philippines or somewhere around in that area.
Thank you in advance and I wish you all the very best! |

Yea, I'm not answering your question. I don't know about teaching mathematics but, I do know that you could teach French as well as English in China. |

Many "second-tier" international schools in Thailand would allow you to teach mathematics - and probably pay you slightly more than an EFL teacher. |
