Hello, I was wondering if anyone has any advice on international medical insurance. I plan to spend time in Ecuador and Peru at the start of the upcoming year and I'd like to be medically insured while I'm there. I have found tons of companies on the internet, but I do not know the reputation of any of them. Anyone know of any good insurance companies or companies I should stay away from??? Thanks a lot.

We use World Nomads, an Australian outfit. They seem to be very reasonably priced. I tried to do a bit of research to see how their coverage was, and it seemed like they cover more than just accidents (e.g.: you have terrible stomach problems -- they'll cover the visit to the doctor). We haven't had the need to use them yet, so I can't tell you how they rate on that level. But, if you'd like to check them out, here's the site: http://www.worldnomads.com/.
