| In 1996 B'koy English Fast was involved in a brawl at a restaurant somewhere on the asian side after one of the teachers (a little merry to say the least) tried to dance with a young lady from the next table. This wouldn't have been a problem normally....BUT....She had just gotten married and was having her wedding party in the restaurant. Her husband didn't really take to the teacher's advances and....punches followed...Chairs flew...tables toppled over...The police arrived...2 teachers were arrested and the rest is history.... |
I was at that, what a fantastic night. I don't believe Nazif ever held one of those parties again. |

Thanks for the update concerning Darryl Golightly I caught up with him on the phone just the other day infact....Yes the good old days in B'koy (thrifty will be in tears if we continue bringing up `the fast too often!) I remember one hot August way back in 1994, we held a beer drinking competion in the Yesil Cafe....(This was between Dilko / English Fast / Antik teachers...) The winners???
English Fast of course! The winning drinker had knocked back 26 beers in the hot August Sun!!!
The last person to leave the table was....MmmMmmM....I wonder if anyone who was around then can remember?? Needless to say the drinker in question had an interesting stagger home afterwards...(Luckily he wasn't teaching the next day!)

It must have been Antik Kev or Dilko John. |

| What do the current crop get up to ... or has it got progressively cleaner ... the only fisty-kuffs I saw in my language-school year of 1996 were between the staff ... locals were off the menu even then ... |

What was his Turkish name? When the fast employed all the new recruits from England and he gave the opening session on the training course what it's like to be a language learner |

Neil was my flat mate for 2 years...but I can't remember him having a turkish 'nick name'...I do remember Nazif telling all the new teachers that ''Turkish people were very hospital!''. (I wonder what he meant by that...lol! |

| Tavsan, do you remember who it was from The Fast that was involved in an incident where one teacher was, er, having a deeply intense discussion with his girlfirend in bed, while his mate was having an equally intense discussion with his girlfiend on the floor, when both teachers broke off their respective discussions to talk grammar with each other? |

When all the newbies came Neil pretended to be Turkish and gave the opening session. It was most entertaining. certainly more than any of my, CN or IW's sessions.
Speaking of Nazifisms. My fave was at one o fhis house parties- 'thank you for your come' |

'Thank you for your come'...lol I remember
as for the incident concerning the intense discussion...MMmMm....I'll have to have a wee think about this one...So much has happened since then & my memory's a little rusty at the best of times...A few names pop into my head...but not so sure...Any clues???
Although 'Hippy' Martin & 'Irish' Neil both managed to walk in on me while I was with my girlfriend!! (On separate occassions I should add!) & (she was most embarressed to say the least!)

| I only met Nazif once when the manager at Pendik tried to shaft us by ripping one page off the contract we had signed and inserting a new page with a new start date. She had left a little bit of paper where the staple was. Nazif came down after my flatmate faxed him a threatening letter. He wore a flowery shirt but was quite reasonable after he learnt the truth. I got all my money. |
