Go to La Calle de la Amargura in San Pedro. Tavura and Terra U are pretty crazy, packed places that are very popular. There are a few other places there too, Pueblo Viejo is a cool, chill bar. El Pueblo on the other side of the city is also very popular, but its not my personal favorite. There are a lot of bars/clubs there though. Any taxi driver will know what you're talking about if you say "La Calle" or "El Pueblo." Castro's is a fun place to go and salsa/merengue dance. El Cuartel is a good dancing place too, Monday is ladies night and it's always crowded that night. The Jazz Cafe is in San Pedro too, within walking distance from the mall. It's a very American type of place, with live music every night. Speaking of the mall, there's a bar called Touch underneath of it which is pretty nice.

have fun!
