can anyone provide any guidelines about what you're expected to wear at the language schools? does it vary from school to school?
i don't want to be lugging about any shirts, ties, trousers, shoes unless strictly necessary.
in italy dress-code was very informal and i could wear jeans and t-shirts. one teacher wore his football shirt for last week of term after his team won promotion. |

are you confirming my worst fears?
not only a shirt but a tie and blazer too? in all schools?
are chileans generally so formal or is it the class system at work here? we have to distance ourselves and the school from any suggestion of working class?
ah well, i'd better head down to primark and learn to tie a tie |

just avoid colors and that's fine. ^^ |

The better schools will be very formal. That is the why they have students. Teachers should look like teachers is the view of most people in Chile. Thus, formal is the rule across almost every school that does English for adults. Even with kids, there will be a level of formal dress required. |
