I read ın an off topic several posts ago that there a few Canada bashers out there. Naturally these bashers are originally from Canada. Certainly there are a few things that could definitely be improved ın Canada but the national character is not one of them. One poster said that Canadians do not take stands or have opinions. I would like to see what Sir Arthur Currie or the thousands that died saving Europe ın both world wars would have said about this. I venture that Lester B Pearson and Pierre Trudeau would have an opinion or two on this topic. The countless refugees from other nations that found a haven to secure a life of safety and freedom may also have something to say. Certainly Canadians maybe more subdued and diplomatic then other nationalities. Is that a bad thing? We need only look at the middle east or the US to see the value of impassioned points of view.
It was the safety, security, toleration, freedom, economy,etc.,. of our rich nation that granted us the luxury of forming opinions and expressing them. Canada is still one of the best countries ın the world to live in for a variety of reasons.
Personally, I think that the negative comments that other users made about Canada are most likely a reflection of their personal inadequacies. It ıs so fashionable amongst certain circles to think they are cooler then most Canadians by bashing their own country. You realize that when you do this it is more of a statement about you personally.
Imagine one poor schmuck from Canada actually bragged that he avoids associating with other Canadians. WOW such a rebel! Like that is a badge of honour. However if he dismissed individuals from another nationality he would certainly be chastized as a bigot. Hmmmm. He could be missing out on another liked minded schmuck like himself. Just an opinion. Canadian and proud of it. |

The only thing I've ever found annoying aboot Canadians is how defensive they are. Case in point. |

Canadians are weird and they smell like poutine and timbits. Away with you all to somewhere where I neednt hear your oddly cadenced houses and outs and abouts and sorrys. Cursed seal shaggers, the lot of you. |

I bet Canadians are responsible for those too, in whatever context you apply. Do you mean the fact that we have them or dont have them? I have been getting weird flavoured pretzels on flights for the past few years due to airlines allergy fears. I blame Canadians. Really. |

Whatever you say about Canada, you can still get gravy on your fries up there, and that's a beautiful, beautiful thing. |

Chip curry sauce is the weirdest curry-related sauce I have ever tried. Does it actually have any curry-related spices in it or is it just the vaguely flavoured yellowbrown library paste I remember? |

Canada is truly a fine country to live in. Naturally it has it's deficiencies.
I think Chretien telling Bush he wouldn't support his stance in Iraq is a pretty strong opinion...
Great standard of living and a country full of liberties.
Incredibly clean. Less murders by handguns in a year than America has in a month.
But like a friggin Ice box, unless you live on the West Coast.
What's the deal with these American backpackers walking around with Canadian flags on their backpacks, because they're afraid they get whacked by angry locals in Europe or Asia?
Be a MAN. Be AMERICAN!!!
