I help many people out, but seriously, some people just deserve a good head shaking. You have yelled at people to "uze da search" or "thatz soooo yesstrdaeey, mate" etc.
You, being a noob yourself, asked me things via the private message system, and I gave you some excellent, sound advice. So don't say I don't help people.  |

I think canuck likes to do this because no- one can know who he is. I bet he is some spotty little boy who never says these things in real life because he's too scared. Then he goes home and bashes people who are just asking for help.

It would probably help if you told us where you are going in Japan. There are alot of courses available but it would be pointless to give out information that is of no use to anyone. What type of course are you looking for? Where in Japan do you expect to be based? |

Aye, point well taken. Well I don't know yet as this will all happen in about ten months time when my contract in the Land of Morning Smog is up. I thought about doing a course for a month or maybe 2 depending on the price and then starting to work. I have basically narrowed it down to ECC since of the big 4, they seem the most benign and as most people have told me I have no other options than the big 4 so...as for cities I would like to land a spot in either Sendai, Sapporo or Kyoto...nothing too big. I am a total newbie in matters of Japan so advice would be appreciated.
ps...in Korea you can't drink the tap water...can you drink it in Japan? |

Personally I have never had a problem drinking the tap water. I live in Osaka and the tap water here has something of a bad reputation. I've never had a problem with it though. Other posters who live in various other parts of Japan will have a better idea about what the tap water is like in their region. I think too much is made of "bad tap water" so I only have myself to blame if I go insane with mercury poisoning. |

It's not that silly. If he doesn't know where he's going to be. If someone asked me if there were such courses in England, I could probably give them a few links or a nod in the right direction - Wombling free managed to reply without the eyes

| I've never taken any courses, I have a private tutor and do alot of study by myself. Some of the eikaiwa schools such as GEOS provide some Japanese language tuition (or at least, they did). |

Cheers on getting rid of the avatar.
I've taken free courses. I took a 10 week / 20 lesson course at the Bentencho Education Centre in Osaka. The cost was �1000 for the text books which I got to keep.
As for tap water, I live in Osaka too and, as I've just posted in another thread, the phrase "it's dangerous" needs to be taken with a truck load of salt here. That said, I bought a water-filter jug for �2900 but that's because I prefer the taste. For the first 3 months though, it was tap water every day. And I'm still here! |

I understand Canuck`s point about being more specific with one`s questions. However, being a total dlck about how one respondes to newbies post is not cool at all either. I am Canadian and I hate that someone having a name that represents Canada acts in such a manner. Canuck if you want to be (or maybe just are) an a$$ please get a name change. I don`t care how long you`ve been around stop giving Canadians a bad name.
