Strange question maybe, but I've landed a good job in the UK working for a University. Long term this is great, and I don't want to give it up, however, I still have itchy feet and want to see bits of the world for longer than a two week holiday allows. Now, one downer with the Uni job is that from June to October every year I'm unemployed (and unpaid). However, I wanted to use this time to teach and travel while still enjoying the long term security of a decent job.
I'd like to work in Japan, but don't know how likely I am to get a job for only 12 -16 weeks. Are there any jobs out there for this sort of time scale, and would they pay my air fare?
A lot to ask, I know - but don't ask, don't get! Thanks a lot. |

I believe Korea has summer camps where you can work for short terms.
I have seen summer terms advertised in Japan before at unis, but they ask for people already in-country. No chance they would ever pay for airfare. |

Jeez, Wintersweet... I hadn't even realized that I had answered that question (and provided those threads) until I saw your post. Thanks for putting up those references... Now we can give you a job as honorary Dave's librarian. |

Haha, thanks, Jim.
(...it was actually a tossup for me between an MLIS and an MATESOL, oddly enough. ) |

Any information about the summer camps offered at universities, and what universities they would be at. |

In the Jalt journal (The Language Teacher, August), there is an ad for a summer program in Niigata-ken at the International University of Japan for 9 weeks, pay is 875,000 yen plus travel costs and free housing. MA required. |
