If Mrs. B ever divorces me, I want to marry Queen of Sheeba!! I'm fast becoming her greatest fan Laughing .

Ye, I too would like certain types of people to go away, namely the ones who just repeat the same anguished moan about Saudi time and time again, and have nothing new to say.

Quote:
Working in The Desert, you encounter large numbers of good people dismayed with their lot (whatever their original motivations might have been), which becomes stiffling.

OK, back to my original question, why do they stay for so long?

Quote:
People happily assimilated into living in KSA are far in the minority.

I would disagree. Most (but sadly not all) who choose to stay in KSA are contented enough living there, and I have met some who actually love it. They are not all EFL teachers...remember, it's not just TEFLers who go from the west to work in KSA. If as Prodiigy says, there are plenty other much better places, perhaps the unhappy ones could go there and leave everyone else alone?

Many, of course, go to KSA and dislike the place, but then they leave as soon as reasonably possible and just get on with life elsewhere.

I suspect the reason the moaners don't leave is that they are often the sort of people who are unhappy wherever they are, and if they went elsewhere their constant moaning and harping would possible be tolerated a lot less than it is in Saudi Arabia. Plus of course, they might get paid a lot less for their moaning. Heaven forbid, unpaid moaning??

Maybe we should arrange to moan for charity?????????? Laughing

Apart from all this, I strongly suggest you get help, Prodiigy. You seem to have been very badly scarred by your time in KSA.

What is really remarkable is the number of people who bitch and moan. They leave and come back in a year or two. I really do not understand that.

We have come a long way Bebsi. Perhaps the Prodigy troll's role is to unite the sane of us.

I must say, I think I prefer "Queeni." I am still waiting to hear about the illustrious 300 club...the why, how, etc. Seriously, how do you manage it mentally and physically? Enquiring minds want to know.

Why? Only psychiatrists can answer that.

How? Those type of people steal crap paper from restaurants. They sponge of their 'friends' etc. They quote idiots like MacEnroe. They would never play tennis since you have to buy tennis balls. Not an interesting bunch.

You must be bored to take interest in misers.

And I was going to say that you must be bored to consistently post on a board dealing with a country - correct me if I'm wrong - in which you have never worked. Particularly when it seems your only purpose is to attempt to make sneering personal attacks on posters you have never met.

Bored, eh....

You're right, I've never worked in KSA. Should I not post on your board?

You're right again, I haven't met any posters. Sneering personal attacks seem to be your specialty.

Has someone mentioned that gad is USD0.65/gallon? That's nice.

Nothing is wrong with saving money, so long as you change and bath regularly. I was serious about the 300 riyals per month inquiry.

As far as I'm concerned, you can post wherever you wish, provided you have something interesting or informative to contribute. Since you quite obviously don't, it seems rather ironic that someone who mocks those who 'take an interest' in certain posters, seems to come onto this board for no other purpose than to indulge in (poor) attempts to slag off those same posters. For a 'not interesting bunch', you seem to take a lot of interest in them.

But whatever.

Well that was one personal attack

That was two. Now who has been caught red-handed making the "sneering personal attacks?" Besides I am genuinly interested in knowing how they manage to spend so little. Now, you can mind your own business or you can make irrational nasty comments in response to posts not intended for you.

You must be bored to make personal attacks for no apparent reason. Atleast my attacks are provoked... Twisted Evil
