So, honestly, how many of you have cried on your last day of teaching? I've managed to hold off so far, but just barely... I think if one more person says, "oooooooh, why are you leaving?!?" I will start bawling!! When my morning class clapped and then came down to my desk ony at a time to hug and kiss me, I nearly lost it! I do like all of the going-away presents, though. Very Happy

One more hour of teaching to go... After which, my whole life is up in the air!

Leaving Acapulco for parts elsewhere in Mexico was something...a time to think, reflect, and stow away in the photo album. I'd been there almost two years. The last moments of watching the Pacific and the city growing smaller in the rearview mirror....that was a warm and fuzzy.

How long have you been with this group of students Denise?

It really depends on the job and the students. I had a horrid job (for me Sad ) teaching some spoiled JHS students. When I left as a once a week sub after 6 months, I was really ready to party Razz !

On my last day of classes, I often race my students to the door. I`m so happy. I have had few attachments to students. Being a youngish teacher with female students in their 20s, one does have to be a little careful and get a bit of separation. After 4 years you do get to know some quite well, but it`s not necessarily a good thing.

I don't want to think about that yet!

I have gotten so settled with all of my students, I can't imagine leaving.

You are not alone, Denise. I also feel the exact same way.

The last day has tended to be a bitter-sweet experience.
