I suppose many of you have Digiturk. I would like to hear your favourite shows and/or channels and, of course, your most despised programs or channels.
On my list of favourite shows. LOST. And next season appears to be the best yet.
Guilty pleasures? Cheaters. "So, Janice, would you like to confront Alfonso and ask him why he lied to you?"
(Closure is a very over-rated concept in the States.) |

My most favorite on Digiturk? On top of the list is "Top Gear" and I love that they do an extra long edition on BBC Prime.
All the movie channes are nice, although I wish there was more variety in movies e.g. a bit more arthouse movie would be nice.
I love that they even put two German channels in the package, although I wonder who decided to put Pro7 on there. That's about the crappiest channel we have in Germany.
Oh yes, and I like VH1 with their different music programming!
Least liked? I think that baby channel is absolutely ridiculous and the fashion channels are just idiot. I wonder who watches that. |

There is a baby channel? Wow. I missed that one. Is it between channels 55 and 80? I skip those entirely en route to Discovery, National Geographic, Reality (Taipei Diaries! Cheaters! Hollywood and Crime!) and C&I and all the music channels.
If anyone needs an effective drinking game (or just a way to pass the time), go to Kraal and take a sip everytime one of the singers raises one arm plaintively. Two sips if both arms. You'll be drunk by the end of a video. |

Yes, I like Taipei Diaries too. Watching last night, when one of the teachers lost his wallet containing ALL his money and he understandably went mad. Thought it was amusing when the new english teacher of toddlers had to be trained how to walk into a class (like a birthday party clown) and then, when asked how it went, said with a proud grin, "It went good!"
Crime and Investigation is my new favourite also. There is one program called "City Beat" or something like that and the narrator always sounds fairly drunk to me.
However, if I have to see any more episodes of "Sex and the City" I think I will scream. I used to like "Friends" until they began showing it for the 15th time and now I can't stand it. |

NOBODY LAUGH AT THE BABY CHANNEL YA!! 61 saves me for awhile. Park me kid in front of ( no snide 'lack of education' remarks from non-parents please) the baby channel and me gets a bit o peace! 2 year olds are demanding.
I am also rather fond of Wooly. Me likes those ball friends too. And who can forget Booba Booby and...ahem. I don't watch that channel. That's for kids. (exits) |

When ghost taught in Taiwan during the 2005-2006 academic year, it was taught how to get respect in the Buxibans (cram schools) - and the the Taiwanese coordinator told ghost that the only way the students would respect it (ghost) would be if ghost spoke very loudly and played games.
Just talking in a 'normal voice' would mean that you lost the class, ghost was told. After 'observing' a few classes taught by the Taiwanese teachers, in which the entire class hour was devoted to the kids screaming out vocab. lists (in unison), ghost decided that Buxiban teaching was not what it (ghost) wanted to do......
Robot learning just did not appeal, and nor did the robots found in most classes.......in the end ghost was lucky to find a language school in downtown Taichung, where it could teach in the ghost style which included real conversation and exchange, as well as following a lesson plan within.

My 2 year old loves Teletubbies and Barney DVDs. I just got a new Barney DVD for 19.95 in Carrefour.
I know exactly what you mean about peace and non-parents have no right to say anything. |

Tavsan's probably got a porn/horror version of it. That, or the equivalent of a Bum Fight, involving a down-and-out Barney vs. a destitute Bungle from Rainbow. |

I must have skipped this post on previous visits, saw it tonight, and from the title thought "that must be Freddie"!
Some of us are mere cable viewers. Only know "Lost" by repute. sniff sniff, snuffle snuffle. Please have pity on us mortals! |

How is Barney supposed to make a living if people like you violate his intellectual property rights?
I suppose you are one of those people who have defrauded Liz and John out of millions. |
