Piont cards are great. I have them for my supermaket, Electronic Shop, Coffee Beans at Starbucks, Lunch at two or three restaurants, and so on. I have been living here for over 7 years and they save my lots.

Like 6810. I baught a viao a few years back and had enough pionts for a FREE digi camera. The restaurants offer free lunch for every 10. But I do agree that the supermrkets are the stingiest. But then they at least offer something for your trouble.

Ya, they offer you something - those annoying, time-consuming questions at the register. I'm tired, I'm hungry, and for the 29th time, NO, I don't have friggin point card already. And I don't want one.

It's more trouble than its worth.

Anyway, thanks everyone for playing. This is not an issue I really expected much action on. It's not quite on the same level as Japanese war crimes or Abe's prime minstership. But if point cards are that vital to your life, well, play on.... I'll give a 10% discount on criticism for every point you make in defence of point cards.

I just love getting point cards and membership cards for everything. Makes me feel special, being a member of so many places. And makes my wallet look impressive.

If just for the fact it's a small confidence booster, point cards are great!

No need for a poll. I concede defeat. Point cards win. I lose.

Lock it up.

Screw point cards. I used to collect them... Then, one day I got SO pi$$ed off, because my wallet so incredibly FULL of them, I literally threw out every last one except the ONE card that is actually worth something to me -- my Yamada Denki card.

All the others can kiss my butt! I'm enjoying my nice, THIN, LIGHT wallet. So I won't get 500 yen off the after 10 visits to the family restaurants... So I won't get free balls the next time I go to the driving range. Big deal! Not having point cards makes my life HAPPIER.

These cards wouldn't be so bad, but EVERY BLOODY BUSINESS HAS ONE! I can only carry so many of em'! It's literally quite out of control.

Rolling Eyes

P.S. They can call me when they invent ONE razor thin, UNIVERSAL point card for every bloody store... Then I may be interested.

Point cards, what about every little hospital and doctor's office. Because we have kids, I bet we have close to 50 different medical cards for the 4 of us. I can't keep them all straight so sometimes I just dump them at the desk and let them find THEIR card.

They are just as popular here in America now. My wife is the collector, as I can't usually be bothered. The ones that always irk me are the ones that promise something after so many visits. I had one to a beauty salon in Japan that I went to for two years. I got the card on my first visit and at two years later the card wasn't even half way to qualifying for a free haircut.

The Tsutaya point system was really good, as are the electronic store systems.

Here in the states, the CVS phamarcy point cards do save a bit of money.

Some point cards are better than others. No one forces you to have one. Free digital cameras and external harddrives are always nice.

If you don't want one, fine. Simple. Continue to be annoyed at them. Simple. Laughing

Then you'd be stupid. Move along.
