I just received a Thanksgiving electronic greeting card from my two nephews. Of course, I'd completely forgotten. Maybe tonight for dinner I will open a tin of turkey and make a turkey salad sandwich. I have no cranberries, alas.
Do any of my fellow Canucks have anything more exciting planned? |

can't say that my night is going to be any more exciting. Maybe I will have some wine and be thankful for grapes......

Apparently. Seems I forgot about it too. See, if it didn't keep changing days it would be easier to remember...I'd like to give thanks to the person who schedules these things. |

We have a few Canadian owned restaurants in my area of Mexico, so a turkey dinner is always hosted by one of them in honor of our Thanksgiving. It was held yesterday and was delicious, complete with mashed potatoes, gravy, dressing, cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie. It somehow seems strange to be eating a big turkey dinner outside on the patio in such hot temperatures. |

I'm jealous, Samantha! I didnt' do anything special for Thanksgiving and I too forgot about it until another Canadian teacher reminded me. I had guacamole for dinner-not very Canadian at all. |

I made a turkey dinner for my family on Sunday. We also had mashed potatoes, gravy and salad. I dont know where to find cranberries or cranberry sauce, wish I had though.
I am trying to keep up some Canadian traditions for my children who are now very Mexicanized. One thing I insist on, though, is that only English is spoken at home, that way they cant forget everything. Even my Mexican husband speaks to them in English (that gets them some stares!).
I plan on doing the whole Easter bunny thing this year, something I havent done for the three years we have been here. Mexican easter just kind of takes over.
We have always put up a tree and Santa Claus comes, even if I have to run to Wal-Mart at midnight to get the presents at the last minute. Most children where we live dont get anything from Santa Claus and many dont put up a tree.
Happy belated Thanksgiving. |

My other Canadian friend and I had so much marking to do that we had to give up our Thanksgiving dinner on Sunday! Were planning on a smorgesborg next Sunday though... she insisted that if we made it up, it had to be on a Sunday. |
