 I agree with Guy about the guy! I saw an article about a year ago, on how Cancun was the new US as far as immigrant sucess stories. Why risk the danger of crossing the boarder to work for gringos, you can get rich off of gringos in Cancun. This seems especially true of Mexicans from other parts of Mexico, who 1) have a little capital to make an incial investment (like buy a van) and 2) have a little business knowledge and reinvest earnings.  Unfortunately, the locals are likely to stay poor. They are subsistance farmers who don't have capital to buy something like a van, and are most likely to spend their savings on Baptism or 15 a�os parties and don't have any "western business" knowledge.

				| Thanks for you opinions. I'd like to believe that my Mexican friend has earned his money honestly. My Canadian friends think it's more likely a "drug" thing that has supplemented his income. Hard to say. He seems smart. he's got some deep pockets somewhere.
