I'd have to say Bindair has given excellent advice.

For example, 4 years ago I bought a flat for 105k PLN, with a mortgage in US dollars.

A week ago I changed the mortgage to Swiss Francs, and pocketed 35k PLN.

The property is probably worth 300k PLN now.

Great Kymro. We are so happy for you!

Bindair....Couldnt be bothered going into the the details of what you wrote but basically its crap. If Grrrr (or anyone else for that matter) is living/working in Polska earning zlotys and investing them in Polish stocks, then what the hell has currency fluctuations got to do with anything??? And if a stock goes from 5,85 to 8 in the space of a few months its WELL in profit no matter what sums you want to do. And by the way, it doesnt cost 5% to sell stocks and the spread is very rarely more than 2%. Youve obviously never done it. And Kymro, youd surely agree with the point on currency fluctaution?

Ive looked at your thread on ME many times Kymro....Always makes me laugh. How someone can be bothered to speculate so long and hard on something so pointless..... To clear up one point you *beep*, I didnt get out of a Profi contract in the way you would like to imagine...I simply got a transfer to another "Oddzial". That ok with you?

Grrrrr...Maybe you could clear my name as far as my investment "scam" is concerned. Have I ever approached you for cash or anything? Or sent you anything dodgy? If you do want to continue the topic of stocks on this thread, Id be happy to do so too.

Where, in Spain Question

Does Profi happen to have any branches there Question

How can someone who arrived last October in Katowice suddenly become an expert on the Polish stock market Question

And if you are genuinely a real hot shot, why would you work for Profi (the language school equivalent of McDonald's), in Poland Question

None of it makes any kind of sense at all.

If you want to advertise Spanish language courses/Profi-lingua/boost share prices, just be honest about it.

Cos you come across as a serial spammer rather than an English teacher.

Yes, the agent's fees could have been avoided

The agents' fees sound a bit steep, (that would represent a few months work for many Poles).

How many metres did you get for 300 PLN, and where Question

A standard agent's fee is 2.5% - when I started viewing properties I was asked to sign all sorts of waivers saying I won't contact the owner directly to buy the flat, and most of these also included a quote of the agent's fees - my agent, at 2% was the lowest - some were as high as 4% (in VERY small print)

300k bought me a 44m2 for 275k and a garage for 25k on ul Wolska, so thats 6250zl per m2 (before all the fees.)

And no, mique has never tried to sell me anything and has offered nothing but sound advice as far as I'm concerned. To be honest, I wish some of the regulars on here would just get rid of the chip on their shoulders and stop being so petty - this place is meant to be for professionals.

There is absolutely no way I have to explain to you Kymro why I know what I know or do what I do. Why do you presume if I came to Poland a year ago that my knowledge of anything Polish should begin from the day of entry??? Bit stupid to make presumptions. Without blowing my own trumpet know (which is obviously your forte) I happen to know a few things, have a few interests, a few fingers in pies etc and Im happy to share what I know with anyone who happens to ask - for example the stocks thread.
How about you stop the stupidity and let the threads serve the purpose they are meant for? Or do we continue you trying to rubbish and "reveal" me as a conman...And I start talking about what I know about you?....and your hot wife Wink

He hardly seems to be the man of myster you portray him to be Kymro.

(And before you accuse of me of being his best mate ask the mods to check IP addresses, location from where messages are sent, ask his mum ask mine, whatever. I've never met the guy.)

He starts a contract in Poland. For whatever reason leaves it. Studies in Spain because he wanted a break/learn spanish/whatever. Comes back to germany, then a week later to Poland.

Its hardly James Bond stuff is it? He promotes PL because he's had no bad experiences - so would anyone thats worked somewhere they've been happy. He's quite happy to tell other people about something he's done - fine. He knows about stocks and shares - and.....?

You may accuse me of being naive - whatever, i'm just pointing out that the sequence of events is hardly unbelieveable. And yet, you've questioned him with such gusto.

Of course you don't have to explain to me what you know or what you do.

But from what you have said on this forum, your meanderings and interests border on the bizarre.

You come to Katowice Poland in Oct.

You immediately become an expert in Polish business. (And if this is true why bother to work as an English teacher, why not work in a bank, in the stock exchange, the pay's much higher).

You claim that Profi's a great place, (actually you later claim to still be working for Profi), yet you break your contract in order to go on a language course in Spain, which you then advertise on the UK, French and German forums.

Interestingly, on the German forum, you claim to be living and working in Germany, (on April the 7th in Paderborn).

However you don't appear to have been all that successful in Germany as we find you on Friday April the 14th setting up a poker game in Poznań.

How can you have a contract in Katowice for Profi, yet simultaneously be in Spain, Germany and Poznań Question

As I said, you don't have to explain who or what you are, and what you do, but you have chosen to disclose this information, and ......... it doesn't add up.

I can only presume you are endorsing certain products, Profi, a Spanish language school, and working to boost the share price of certain stocks.

I don't know if you are a conman, but I fail to believe you are an ordinary Profi English teacher. And if you are, well you have a remarkable imagination combined with the quasi-magical ability to be in several places simultaneously.

And if you wish to reveal what you know about me or my 'hot' wife, well spill the beans, I like being entertained.

If you've read his posts I do accuse you of being naive.

The sequence of events doesn't seem credible.

Well, I've been here a long time, nearly all this time working for myself, not only as a teacher.

I have also bought and sold properties here.

(And been ripped off a few times. This helps the cynicism radar a great deal.)

I have some idea of the Polish 'reality'.

More to the point, I've looked at a fair few CVs, interviewed a fair few ex-pats and come across a fair few d*ckheads in my time here.

Now regarding Mique, he's sent me a pm, which basically confirmed some of my suspicions. As he's not a mate or confidant of mine, I see no reason not to reveal its contents.

First have a look at the following post, made on April the 7th, in which he claims to be in Paderborn in Germany, having just returned from a six week holiday, learning Spanish in Spain.

http://www.eslcafe.com/forums/job/viewtopic.php?p=383161#383161

Mique informed me that he partly owns an internet site offering Spanish courses in Spain. (Rather or very odd for a humble Profi teacher).

He admitted having been lying about living in Germany.

He also admitted not having been to Spain this year, as he claimed.

Now, if anyone's interested in following Mique's meanderings in Poland, he claims to have come to Katowice in Oct, after 3 weeks moved to Poznań and to be in Gdansk at present.

The Poznań part can quite easily be checked, as Biff was in Profi Poznań at that time. (Mique also calls himself 'Mike').

As I've already stated I have no idea who or what exactly 'Mique' is. Or more interestingly what motivation he has for being a serial liar. All I can say is that if he's a con-man, he's not a very convincing one

Well cheers for that Kym...Proved yourself the d+ckhead you really are....I wrote to you privately thinking youdsee more clearly at least the process of events but you are obviously absolutely paranoid and clueless. So you are 100% sure I didnt ever live in Germany, yeah? Joker.... And youve dropped the point that I became an expert on the Polish stockmarket overnight.....???

You have no idea about me and just because you own 1 poxy school doesnt mean I cant teach and do other things...or does it? Maybe I even enjoy teaching - something youve probably not experienced with teachers at your school. Theres no mystery here...Just one very paranoid fool who gets a kick out of...well...nothing. Or maybe jealousy.

I wont be posting any useful info on here anymore....Probably no big loss to be honest but still better than the rude, patronising and big-headed comments you leave. Ive read your input on this board and youve honestly p*ss*d off more people than youve helped. Well done. Sums you up really....

And yes I know Biff...of course...He was a legend of the pub scene in Poznan...to say the least...

Grrr...Stare etc....PM if youre interested in any contact with the old stockmarket....Unfortunately Im done writing on this thread.

Well, that's what you told me.

It's all I have to go on ........

Don't take it like that.

Can't keep a good man down and all that.

Just change your handle. As they say in your profession, 'there's one born every minute'.

You can't have read very carefully. I can't recall even a single post which Warren has ever made here which was aimed at helping anybody. But that's just Warren for you, explains why he is welcome nowhere that teachers, or any foreigners at all, meet.
