| The current belief, or another UAE rumour, is that 100 English teachers are need for next semester at HCT as some colleges are having a second intake in February. Also a considerable number of content teachers are needed. Apparently, former teachers have been contacted with offers of re-employment and if teachers can't be found, everyone will be on overload. |

Do they pay for overload teaching? ...or is that covered in the 'other duties' section of the contract?

That's some consolation.
As I recall, there were always a few courses to be covered in a rotation for those one or two position shortages that hits everywhere for the first month or two of each academic year... and never once was I paid for it. It was always considered part of the required subbing duties.
