It seems that in Turkey it's the students that have the cameras turned on in the schools, not the authorities.
Watching the previous one led me to this:

Who's in control, the teacher or students? What would you do if you walked in to a class like this? |

Do it all the time ,its what happens when you teach in any high school private or state .
Take it on the chin let the kids carry you around the classroom and get armfuls of flowers on teachers day . Usually happens if you happen to support their favourite team, which I foolishly did once . Scared me shitless at the time ,but looking back it was one of the highlights of that teaching year ,even the floor manager had a smile on his face . Compared to some places as the song goes "the kids are all right " . |

| What I like about Turkish kids is that no matter how noisy, boisterous, out of control, lazy, bored, or oblivious they are, they are very very rarely ever mean. I have friends who teach in the US and UK and in parts of western Eurpoe and some of those kids are MEAN. |

| To go back a bit, there's no way free speech is more restricted in the UK, despite political correctness. There was loads of stuff from all sides in the papers after Jack Straw's comments about the veil. You can still say pretty much what you want (apart from slander/libel or inciting hatred) in public and in the press and not be sued, or prosecuted under some strange law for 'insulting Britishness'. There's so much I love about Turkey but that kind of debate simply couldn't happen here. |
