Ok my teenage son is coming to visit over xmas, hes 17 yrs and i could use some suggestions on how to keep him amused. He will want to see the temples etc, as he is into history etc. but being 17, I'm sure he will want to see other stuff. Any ideas would be greatly apreciated xxx |

Oh goodness. I can offer a lot of suggestions. Here are a few:
Bangkok:
The National Museum - definately! The Chariots gallery is amazing!
Vimanmek Mansion - free with purchase of a ticket to the Grand Palace.
Wan Fah dinner cruise - well worth the money!
Safari World - nice park, lots of shows.
Jim Thompson House - very interesting.
Siam Niramit - nice show and neat folk village
Pattaya:
Nong Nooch - best shows of elephants and Thai culture ... I've seen yet.
Million Years Stone Park - If you like crocodile shows.
Pattaya Elephant Village - nice trekking in the jungle. A sancutary.
Alangkarn - great dinner and nice traditional Thai show
Coral Island - for parasailing, jet skiing and feeding fish in the sea
Kanchanaburi:
Elephant bathing in River Khwae Yai.
Tiger Temple - best part for me was petting a tame buck deer that was laying down. I've touched a lot of tigers but never a large buck deer before.
Chiang Mai:
White Water Rafting for the day - oh what a blast!
Bamboo Rafting, Elephant trekking, ox-cart riding, water buffallo riding and a trip to orchid farms... all in one day.
There's a new large night safari park. I forget the name of it. The place is incredible. They spared no expense. They have very rare animals there from Africa. If I were an animal, I would want to live there.
I could go on but I've done all the above and I would suggest them to anyone. Are you keeping an eye on your son while he's visiting? I wouldn't want him drifting off to some place alone like Patpong. That's no place for children. |

You guys are so amazing, thanks so much, there should be no time for him to stray to Patpong lol. I'll be buggered by the time we get through even half of this.
Thanks again, you guys rock! |

Lumpini and Rachadaemon or Gawilla on Friday nights in Chiang Mai.... |

What smilies?
I have no idea what you're talking about.

Deicide,
I think you mean emoticons, not "smilies."

Just go to C. Mai, talk to any tour booth operator and he/she will be more than happy to set you up. The tour is no big secret. |

Thanks. I can't wait until February. I get to come for 2 weeks. This has been a dream for so long. Your list will get some use. |
