Speaking of bars...here in canada, as in the UK and other western civilizations, there a lots of "meet and greet and hopefully get laid by the end of the evening" places where people in mid-life congregate...
Turkish women in their 40's, from what little I know, seem to lack a libido...cultural taboos and all that...so where do they hang out, when the hormones kick in?? |

Vivache - do you mean the Greek church behind all the kebab/durum places near Taksim Meydan? I find that street a bit dodgy at night so walk dead quickly and may have missed it. What's it next to/above?
And where is Secret Garden?
Thanks for tips all, keep them coming. Got to find some decent places to keep me going throught the winter... |

That's the one. Don't know if vivache's still running though. On the ground floor, it's a record/dodgy artwork shop. They used to have a bloody ENORMOUS Psychotic St. Bernard called Marlon lying across the entrance. |

Secret Garden is on Nevizade, either number 17 or 27. Go up the stairs allthe way to the top.
I think Dogstar2 is`becoming my new local. It's quite arty, very tastfully done witha really cool balcony area. music seems to be quite funky in a George Clinton sort of way(last 2 weekends I'vebeen). walking down Istiklal turn left before ET then first right and almost immediately on your left there is a building. Again go all the way up to the top. It has a wicked rooftop bar area that is covered for the winter. Pretty cool city views.
Oh there is a party there tomorrow night. It's one of the owners B'day. But don't tell him it's a surprise. |

Thanks. And I may have to get myself to Babylon, despite the Nisantasi girls - Afrika Bambaata's there next month! Things are looking up... |
