I have seen some interesting discussions about the schools in Surabaya so I was wondering if anyone had any ideas of a ball park figure of the percentages of different nationalities in the expat communtiy and some knowledge of how they get along and interact.
Cheers,

Do you mean expats from all fields or just ESL?
I've been told the ESL expat make-up in Surabaya is similar to here in Jakarta. Purely from observation, I'd say in descending order you'd have; Australian, English, Canadian, American, Kiwi. With the occasional Dutch, South African, French, Indian etc. thrown into the mix.
As for expats from all fields, obviously a much wider net is cast on the nationalities. Relative to the ESL field, you'd probably find a higher proportion of Americans as well. |
