Although I have already posted this on the China forum and have had numerous lookers I have had no response. My question remains has anyone a contact number (email) for the school (which advertised positions available on Daves) as the link that went with the original job posting is no longer active. The school wanted ten teachers so even if the jobs are filled there have to be ten people who have contact details. I am hoping that one of the teachers will perhaps read this forum.
Thanks |

If a school needs 10 teachers I'd guess that they have a very high turnover rate, or perhaps a brand new school. I've never heard of a single school hiring so many teachers at once outside of large universities. And being a 'foreign language school,' it's probably a dodgy place, like my school. The teachers probably grew tired of Machiavellian school administrators and being a dancing panda for rich kids. Like my school. |

Thanks for the response Seth. The school was described as a new joint venture between an Aussie and a Kiwi and I am interested to hear how it is going. If it is up and running then somebody must know surely? |

More suspicious, mate - a JV between two outsiders is a scam, full stop!
The only legal JV's in China have at least one CHINESE partner!
For foreigners to run an enterprise, they would need half a million in RMB upfront to satisfy the authorities!
Another guess: They are going to loan you to other schools, or rather, they are going to market you, sell you to the highest bidder (they are agents).
There is such a "school" operating in Guangzhou, called "Canadian International School". It oeperates without a licence (and the authorities have not bothered to check them out yet, which is astonishing!). What this means is that you can never hope to be legally employed in a socialist and highly bureaucratised society! |
