| Pineapple farm in Okinawa. I never would have imagined that you can make so many awesome things from pineapples....and there are free samples with the tour of pineapple wine and other treats...yum! I also think Beppu is a pretty neat place if you are into seeing some unusual stuff thats kind of tacky and touristy. Their monkey mountain is unreal..and the sex museum...well, its worth the 1000 yen. |

Having only been to a couple of places, I find this list to be helpful.
I would add hiking Mt. Misen on Miyajima. It's a short hike and has a bald summit so there's an awesome view of the Seto. Beautiful leaves this time of year. |

| I would highly recommend the English (Japanese if you are willing) Toyota Car Factory tour in Toyota city. It is a great 2 hours and quite amazing if you like electronics and cars. |

Kurobe Gorge--must be full on right now, the colors and all. Hike up there and build your own hot spring. Awesome trip. Stay at the temple across from the fancy hotel in the town of Unazuki, 2000 yen with breakfast and all the candles you can handle. Take the little railroad to the terminus, hike another hour or more until you arrive at Babadani Springs. We were there the last week the train ran for the year, which is right about now.
Enjoy,

| Akihabara on the weekend, and Harajuku on a Sunday morning. Asakusa on a weekday because it is usually crowded with tourists on the weekends. And check out the Asahi beer factory there. |
