I've just learned that there was a thread on this forum about my arrest in and incarceration by Turkish police in September of this year.

One poster - Intrailicus - an advertising executive for Akbank, seemed to take particular delight in my misfortune -

Quote:
Tears of laughter rolling down face, sides splitting, can hardly control myself...

Thank you, you've made my day.

Sorry, but....

Now I've read the story and...

I'm not saying the guy's a complete cretin, honestly, I'm not...

I particularly like the fact that the Beeb spelt his name wrongly.

You've made my night, honestly, you have.

This guy's behaviour has narked me greatly in the past, hence my chuckles when learning about his predicament.

I'm intrigued by the suggestions that he should be locked up for producing bad art. Having seen some of the chap's output, I'd have to say that...

The piece of work certainly invoked something in some of those that viewed it, and so therefore was getting the artist thrown in jail a case of the art doing its job?

Knowing the artist, I'd like to suggest that this may have been the case.

You say you know me, and that my behaviour has narked you greatly in the past. Could you explain how and why?

Wow, this is weird. Using a public forum to ask a person to explain something that seems a bit personal, yet it's not really public because everyone has secret identities. The sphere of public and private become dazzlingly blurred.

It's like Dave's imitating art. Or life imitating Dave's. Or something.

Or maybe it's just really freaking early in the morning and things seem weird when they aren't really.

Actually, it's very dull. Runeman, I think you're irritating and I'd never even heard of you before this forum. My opinion is purely based on your overlong and slightly self-obsessed posts. For example, you wasted space (and my time because I clicked on it) posting a pantomine. What are you doing? Please talk about teaching or life in Turkey and stop promoting yourself, it's getting old.

I know what you mean. There are posters on this forum and others that I have met through Daves, there are posters I know pre-Daves* and there are posters who I have never met yet exchanged meaningful dialogue.

The distinction between cyberlife and real life does get confusing.

* We talk about BC and AD maybe it's about time we had a new time reference. How about BD(before Dave) and AD (afterDave)... oh hang on that doesnt work or what about AD(Anno Dave) .... nope DS(dave'dan sonra) ...no that doesn't work either. Justme is right it is still too early on a Monday morning. Speaking of which does anyone remember that old Blackadder sketch?

"What time is it?"

"Monday morning"

"Monday morning?"

I'm confused. Also I'm picking this ball of fuzz off my sweater but now I'm suddenly not sure if it's a ball of fuzz or actual frayed sweater, and will I ruin the sweater if I keep picking at it? Yet can I stop picking at it? It troubles me and sweater fuzzballs are piling up on the floor.

I'm out, unfortunately. Or shall I say outie? The only thing in my bellybutton is bellybutton, with the wee one wriggling behind it... Sometimes my bellybutton looks like it's doing a little dance. Or the wave.

Speaking of belly dancing. Does Sabine Sevan still dance?
