I was curious folks. Because of my lack of a Bachelors, I am forced to go the working holiday visa route. Will I have a reasonably okay time attaining work "prior" to arriving? Or do you think that being there in person will prove to be what's necessary?

.....any advice is greatly appreciated.

Last time I looked out the window there was still money growing on trees, though I did see the Sagan people harvesting mine.

Why did you make this a new thread? You should have posted this in your S.O.L. thread.

But to add something constructive.... People I know on the WHV had pretty much all had working arrangements prior to arriving to Japan. Once in Japan, it doesn't seem too difficult to find work - at least here in the Tokyo area.

It would probably be worth getting employment before you arrive, if possible. Living in Japan can be very expensive and you have to remember that your first paycheck will probably come in four to six weeks after you arrive.

There is an organization that assists with finding employment but I have no idea how useful they are.

Thanks for the response folks. I suppose I'll aqquire the WHV and take it from there. I'm mostly advised that I will be able to attain some part time employment prior to arriving. As far as the rest...guess I'll figure it out when I get there.
