perhaps some of you are already aware of this scheme:
Quote: |
Military service members have been encouraged recently to learn English or sharpen their English proficiency under a program initiated by Army Commander-in-Chief Hu Chen-pu (胡鎮埔), an army source said yesterday. |

Interesting, I wonder what (if any) job opportunities could come of this? |

It certainly seems to indicate an increase in demand for TEFLers.
We shall see whether the army only recognizes certain schools, whether tuition will be reimbursed directly to the army personnel, or whether the Army hires consultants/teachers to work directly for the military...or ?

i'd bet it'd be a sweet gig to go onto the army base for a few hours a day and teach english to some of the soldiers...fairly easy i'd think too...
i met this coffee shop owner, who had just finished his military service, and his english was quite good....he told me that i should keep coming back to his cafe so he could keep his english sharp, unfortunately i moved schools and it was no longer viable.. |
