There is an ad for this website on the job board. Is this website legit? Do they offer good jobs at good schools?

I was thinking about posting this yesterday, but decided not to. But this morning I come in and say, What the heck! Let's see if we can make a thread disapear!

So the university where I work is currently hiring English teachers and we have an ad or two out there on the internet. You'll have to search to find it, you see we don't have a budget and more and more sites that used to be free are deciding to charge schools for ads. But I'm getting off the point.
So we put an add up on a couple of sites, and suddenly start getting responses from SeriousTeachers.com But the thing is, that isn't one of the sites we put an ad up on. They must have lifted our ad from another site. Okay, sounds cool, we need more exposure, no problem. But there is this one little problem. You see we get a response from their automated system with a tiny blurb about teacher X who wants to apply for the job, telling us to click here to see his/her on-line profile. But that link takes us to a page asking us if we want to pay for 1 month or 3 months. 1 month being about 90 US dollars and 3 around 150. That's about the going rate of the other pay to post your ad webpages. But like I said we are a state school and have no control over the budget. So we don't want to pay to see these teacher's online profiles, but we are getting like 15 or so a day, cluttering up our in box. And meanwhile teachers who are apply, don't know why they've never heard back from us. Which maybe giving us a bad reputation.

I don't know how many other schools are in our same situation.
I don't know if they are also charging teachers?

I've just browsed their site- doesn't LOOK super sketchy, but anyplace that lists "Post Jobs for Tecahers" probably isn't SUPER professional.

It looks like you're signed up for a trial membership, MELEE. I'd threaten to sue.

Best,
Justin

I also checked out the site but I did think it looked sketchy, but then I didn't do a full search. I tend to stay away from sites like that - I can't remember, do they ask the teachers to pay or just the schools??
