Looks like as long as tourists are willing to work for room and broad we will never see and end to substandard wages.
This is a fins example of that: its in a remote place that cost 40% more to live in then Jakarta
Rp. 6 250 000 (US$ 1 =Rp 8 700 Indonesian Rupiah) 3-month probation
Rp. 6 750 000 for the rest of the 1 year contract (this will pay for your food, but not much more min. for dinner is 12,000)
One Year Basic Salary Bonus after the completion of the 1 year contract (Rp 6 750 000)
Rp 10 000 000/year Housing Allowance (a kost w /A/C is 700,000 a month)
Life Insurance and Medical Insurance Rp 3 000 000/year (this can be used in a 3 day stay)
Plane Ticket Reimbursement
Australian Citizen US$ 800
UK Citizen US$ 1200
US Citizen US$ 1 500
50% after the 3 month probation 50% after the contract completion(hum.. so if you don't like me I get stuck with 100% of the Air fair?)
Visa and Working Permit will be shouldered by the institution. (Wow! giving a lot here..)
Transportation to and fro the school provided
15 days of annual leave (must be the time when the school is shut) |

And can people choose the broad, or does it have to be one of those dodgy Blok M girls? |

Blimey...when will people learn?
If it's money you're after, don't teach in Indonesia! It's as simple as that.
If you think that 6.75 million rupiah is only enough for food and not much else, I would suggest switching eating venues. |

Hi,
Ok... What is a good salary package for Indonesia outside Jakarta. Would around the 10,000,000 be a reasonable amount?
Cheers,

Well as they say location, location, location. 10 juta is ok here, better in other places and really good in others.
That job is where there is no fresh milk and the stuff in a box cost 14,000, mac and cheese is 17,000 a beer in the bar is 50,000 and in the story is 14,000, gas is 5,200, the a kost is 700 ribu 1 juta. Dinner will set you back 9,000 on the side of the street you can rent a house starting at 10 juta with the kitchen outside in a complex you are looking at 25 juta a year ( 2 bedroom)to 2,500 US a month (5 bedroom and pool) same complex, they do have a public pool as well for only 50,000 per person or 8 juta a year |
