Hi.
I have finally arrived in Leon and found a job. Now I just have to get my FM3. I was told that the form that needs to be filled out can be found online but I am not having any luck....can anyone help me?
Thanks!

You heard wrong...go down to Immigration and get a list of things that they require in your particular case. There are about a dozen different categories of FM3's.

You can get a list of the paperwork you'll need online, but I don't think you can get the forms online. The way it worked for me here in Morelia is that you get all your papers together, buy the SAT-5 forms at the graphic design studio across the street, and take everything with you to the office. The actual FM3 application form is filled on the computer by the migracion officer, printed out, and given to you while you are at the office. They also gave me the FM-1 at that time and told me to fill it out and bring it back when they called me. But every office is different.

Hello
Thanks for the reply. I have a list of everything that I need for the FM3. There is just one form that I need and it is online. It is a form that asks about eye colour, face shape etc.
I will keep searching. If I cna't find it, it is at the immigration office too but I have to use a typewriter.

I remember filling this form out in my local Migracin office and they gave me the pen to complete it. It is an interesting form and makes you think about your appearance, like: Do I have bushy eyebrows? How big is my mouth (physically that is), do I have an unusually large nose??

The SAT form was replaced in my migracin office with an electronic form that they complete there and then they send you off to the bank. You might want to check in with the office to see if they have switched to this form. It will save you time and frustration.

Very easy to find online.

Don't be confused by the form being called FM-1. That is the form you use for your FM-3 application.

FM stands for "Migratory Form". You fill out migratory form #1, and they give you back migratory form #2 or #3.

The FM-1 form is supposed to be typed. I know one girl who filled it out in pen and then begged and pleaded for them to take it because she didn't have access to a typewriter. It worked!!

The teachers here always hand it in handwritten. The immigration guys at this office have never complained. I guess it's just another example of how things vary from one office to another.
