To set the record straight, I work legally on an "F" visa in Central China. The how and why is not important. What is important is that the local exit and entry bureau of the PSB decided to issue me an "F" visa to work at a Government uni. They even converted an "L" visa to the "F." This was their idea to save me having to make a trip to Hong Kong.
The "F" visa is for 6 months. They have encouraged me to obtain an "Expert's Certificate" so that they can convert my "F" visa to a "Z" visa.
The "Z" visa will be support for a five-year residency permit. Yes, I have agreed to a 5 year contract with annual salary increases.
Hopefully this will put an end to Joe C's B>S> that it is illegal to work in China on an "F" visa. |

My salary this year is a low 4,500 per month. I teach 12 periods a week. My salary is on a 12 month basis plus annual round trip airfare equivelent in rmb.
My detached on-campus apartment is 135 sq. mt. All utilities are paid by the school. I also have a 160 sq. mt. enclosed courtyard with greenhouse and bird aviary.
A school car and driver is available to me 24/7 at no charge.
I develop my own teaching materials rather than be stuck with the traditional texts.
I am happy. |

So now you go from claiming that virtually anybody can work on an "F" visa to that you can work on an "F" visa because of some secretive circumstances.
Let's try something really interesting. Why not post a copy of your "F" visa and the name of the university where you supposedly work? Then we'll see with just one well-placed phone call how quickly you are deported. Fair enough? Or would you rather just 'fess up to your lies?

Liar, liar, pants on fire! You're a liar, MaTroll. You will never get a 5-year residence permit.
You know who you sound like? You must be a reincarnation of the old ESL Guru. |

contrary to what is written on these pages..I also know of a few folk who's "F" was arranged by the PSB..and even one who was a victim of school downsizing had his visa renewed after the school had giving him his walking papers...that is why I have often said..don't take any of this stuff you read on Dave's as the God's Honest...it is up to the individual to discover what they can accomplish...it is the Junior Cops who will cry illegal at a drop of a hat...in fact ..they likely know the least....and so they attempt less... |
