C'mon John! You mean you've never made photocopies of an activity from a book or copied and pasted stuff from the web into a document?

I'm not saying that it's 100% ok...more of a don't-ask-don't-tell kind of thing. As for us, we certainly have to abide by copyright laws when using software, and usually when it comes to videos.

We're also not like Chinese language schools (maybe unis too) in that we don't allow our students to photocopy entire books!

Jizzo,

All the chains that I worked for in Japan prohibited that kind of photocopying. Also, Costa Rican universities prohibit it pretty much as well. Though many students in Costa Rica do what you mentioned is done in China, the universities in CR tell their professors that they cannot recommend this to students. Also, once the Central American Free Trade Agreement is signed, there is apparently going to be a crackdown on this kind of photocopying here.
