Has anyone used Yakup recruitment to get a job in China??
Their website is.
They seem reputable and organise the Z visa before you leave home. |

And, as a recruiter they won't arrange for your work visa - that's the job of your actual employer who might baulk at this idea! |

Avoid Yakup like the plague!!
They personally lied to me and strung me along for weeks this past summer, purposely jeopardizing my chances of accepting another job.
Many other horror stories and lies have been posted on these forums before.
There claims are too good to be true! |

As a little litmus test...
try, just try, to get them to even identify to you who your future employer will be, before you leave for China. |

Like Joe we had the misfortune of dealing with this company. He calls himself Doctor, but I doubt very much that he is. We supposed had positions in one city and came to Beijing only to be told they had been filled. He then offered us jobs in north western China. NOT for me!!
My advice is try to deal with the school itself. There are some great jobs going in Suzhou primary and middle schools. Fortunately, we had a wonderful time inspite of the agency.

What was the doctor's name? There is a suspicious character at the school I am teaching at saying he is a doctor. |

Why would a recruiter take a name that sounds so much like a euphemism for vomit? Every time a thread about them comes up I think of my dog hacking up a toad it tried to eat back when we were young. |

I did come to China with Yakup International because I made up my mind in a week and did not have any time to research the Schools.
Given my time over again, I would deal direct with the schools although I cannot say that I was given a raw deal with Yakup. He did promise me some things that have not materialised, however I am very happy at the School he organised for me and am staying until 30th June 2004.
The only benefit I can see in coming here with a Recruiter is if you have never travelled before. At least you get met at the Airport, shown around the City and you do not have to pay for your accommodation in Beijing or wherever. I stayed in Beijing for 3 nights and it did not cost me anything. He paid for my accommodation as well as meals.
