Does anybody have any experience working for this particular organization?
They seem to be a decent school and are offering a 'normal' wage (� 60,000) and working conditions (�100 hours a month) with an end of contract bonus and free dorm room accomodations for up to 15 months.

Most of the job offers we've received have been similar give or take a point or two; we just don't want to end up working for a mickey mouse operation which is why we're looking at a well established school.

Any comments from current or former teachers?
What were your impressions of working for them?
Were you well treated?
Did they honour the contract?

Yes, I have experience with them.

They are the largest buxi company in Taoyuan county. Overall, I'd say they are not bad. Once you learn their system, teaching their classes is a breeze.

They tend to honour their word in most contract matters, so you don't have to worry about them blatantly ripping you off. They guarantee you a minimum of 20 hours per week and they have the classes available to meet that obligation.

The downside is that you will have to work out of multiple outlets over a fairly large geographical area to keep your sched full; you will have to get a scooter if you work there. It is also illegal to work in a location with a registered company name other than the one listed on your ARC. Each Gloria outlet is registered under a different company name, so you are often working at locations other than your sponsor, making you technically illegal alot of the time. In addition, they will often send you to do work at junior high schools and other outside places. Be aware that these jobs are also illegal. What are the risks? I'm not sure. The legalities never affected me while I was working for them, but I've heard of teachers who have experienced troubles, including one who was facing deportation for teaching a class at a local government institution.

Thanks for the info Steve, we've been dealing with a lady named Penny and she seems to be fairly reasonable....decisions, decisions...
