Good luck. Worked with 4 kiwis in Bydgoszcz. Two hated Poland (Why come in the first place?), one complained incessantly about everything. Hope it's not a kiwi thing! The weather is, yes, 'different' in Poland! |

Hi there Nocturnalme, your right why come to Poland if your going to complain . May be they spent time living in England before they came over and where used to things done different who knows, but dont worry its not a Kiwi thing.
Are they still around??? |

Hi. The 'whinger' married a Pole and is around somewhere but for the other two I think Poland was a rites of passage thing and left after a year. Hopefully, you'll have a ball here, though! |

Most of the teachers lurking in the Language Pub in Sopot last Sat were shouting at the TV with in distinctly Scottish flavor. There were a few Brits there as well but they kept pretty quiet during the British-Irish rugby match...maybe because their team was getting stomped by the Irish.
Haven't met a single kiwi teacher since I've been here, or another US citizen for that matter. Maybe kiwis are just too cool to come to the Language Pub on a Sat night tho. I don't blame them. It was wall to wall dudes in there so I left after 2 pints of Beamish. |

Just a small point Master
Be careful how you use the term Brits. Though I'm sure no offence was intended, remember (and your mention of the scottish suggests you know this ) that Brits doesn't cover only the Nationality beaten by the Irish the other day. It may spare some irritation around you, certainly if you return to the land of wall-to-wall dudes.
If your point is rather that the Welsh were also beaten by the green lads, thus legitimising the general term, have another look at the manner of defeat. If this was indeed your point you should have used plural (couldn't resist that one...)
Bear in mind also that they are yet to play Sotland...
Anyway, have a top day, remember that we are not all Brits and people from Seattle shouldn't be conflated with Detroiters. For example.

Good point, Nab. Us Celts can be very touchy about such things! |

Hey wasn't that a game tho?? And what about the Italians its about time they won a game they have worked very hard for it. I was in a newly opened bar in Krakow called the Irish Mbassey. It was packed full of English,Irish,Welsh and even a few French fella's so it was a U.N night all round.
Still I cant wait until the world cup rugby then we can see who is who in the world rugby. At the mo I think we are on form and (sorry guys) but untouchable at this time, how ever we all know from old the the mighty A.B's do well up until cup time and then its crying in ya beer time AGAIN. So I hope this time they can pull it off. I feel sorry for Jonny Wilkinson as he is once again a target and with S.A in the Englands round they will give him a good going over I think, sad but true.
As far as Kiwi's not going to the Teacher bars I must be flying the flag as I have met some really nice chaps down here in Krakow and go out once a wek to cach up with them, its a blast. Maybe theres not to many Kiwi's here in Poland who knows. |

Point taken, nabakow30.
There are many ancient rivalries, peeves and grudges out there amongst the British Isles and it's hard for me to keep track of them, not to mention the rules of rugby! |
